Arte de Descartes VIII (2008)Arte de Descartes VIII, our eighth annual recycled art show will take place from September 7- September 20, 2008 at the Stables Art Center located at 133 Paseo del Pueblo Norte in Taos. This show represents an unusual collection of artistic expression, all made from mostly recycled materials. Traditional recycled art like patchwork quilts, rag rugs, rag dolls, forged metal, collage, sculpture, mosaic are all made with ingenuity from bits and pieces of whatever is on hand. It encompasses many different mediums because our waste stream is so vast. Sponsored by local non-profit Wholly Rags and juried by esteemed artists, Terrie Mangat, Ed Larson and Maye Torres, participating artists are represented from coast to coast.
